This week, marks a major milestone for aged care in Australia, as the final report from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, was tabled in Parliament. Comfort Keepers welcomes the delivery of the final report, which reflects two years of extensive investigations, and outlines 148 recommendations and a roadmap to significantly reform the aged care sector.
The Government has also responded with a further $452 million commitment to the sector, with an overall aim of restoring respect, care and dignity for Australia’s seniors. Comfort Keepers will be reviewing the findings in detail, in the coming weeks, and looks forward to working collaboratively with government, our industry partners and the wider community, to ensure that seniors receive the best possible level of care and quality of life, possible. Although there’s still a lot of work ahead of us all, the report signals a big step in the right direction and we look forward to playing our part, in making a real difference.
